You know what I think truly makes me a . . . well, a very me human being? The fact that I have this unique ability to do nothing but chat the utmost shit. You can converse with me for hours – probably even entire days, although I don’t like to socialise for long, so good luck getting that to happen – and at the end of the conversation you’ll come to realise I didn’t say one thing of meaning. It’s a skill, it really is. I like to use it to deviate from the fact that, to be perfectly honest, I’m a total fucking weirdo.
Hi. Follow me on Insta, I’ll follow back unless you post porn or white supremacy.
Seriously. If I ever say anything meaningful or that I actually put thought behind . . . it’s almost guaranteed to be really, really strange. My mind is filled with weird facts and stories and conspiracy theories – so, naturally, when I went on a book haul I didn’t run to buy romances, or a terrible YA; nope, I bought books on politics, religion, philosophy, tarot cards and palm reading.
Do you now see what I mean? It’s not even my fault – the contents of my brain is just . . . weird. I can list the top 10 serial killers, name you their motives and what they said when they were caught. Anyways, one of my aforementioned books was one on something I find pretty fascinating – and that’s palm reading. And because I was rather shocked about what my palm told me, I decided to tell you what your palms tell you.
How To Read Your Palm
- Left or Right Handed?
Right handed – logical, analytical, pragmatic. You play by the rules and you’re cautious – you think your decisions through and examine them before you make them.
Left handed – creative, intuitive, original. You’re not afraid to fail.
When being read, regardless of what hand you use to write, your left hand demonstrates your more private self – fantasies, hopes and dreams – whereas your right hand shows how you interact with the world and the personality you put forward. I learnt about reading the right hand, so go with that.
- How Big Is Your Hand?
This one is actually pretty weird – I thought I had small hands (I mean, if you look at them . . . they just look small) but they’re actually medium. The way to tell is to place your palm over your face, with your wrist resting on your chin, and see how far your fingers reach. If they don’t make it past your eyebrows, your hand is small; if they are almost or touching your hairline, they’re big and if they’re past your eyebrows, but not close to your hairline they’re medium.
Small hands – you see the big picture, but miss important details. You pursue goals and are very determined. You rely on logic and intellect rather than intuition. Very self-disciplined and can put aside instant gratification in favour of long term reward. Driven by achievement, and the goal to attain status and security. Thing to watch out for – work to home-life balance. You’ll often favour work and sacrifice the other.
Big hands – you are sensitive, versatile and curious. You have a lot of mental energy, and pursue what you want, but are flexible and willing to see other points of view. You know how to reach people on their own terms. You enjoy examining and categorising others. You don’t like not getting answers, or dealing with stubbornness.
Medium hands – the mediator between the two. Quick-witted and responsive, you can shrug off problems and setbacks easily – you’re very practical and you refuse what is unhealthy, unsuitable or unnecessary. You seek out serenity, comfort and the good things in life.
- What Shape Is Your Palm?
Thin – palms with a thing, rectangular shape to them are thinking and feeling hand. For those that are mentally very quick and bright – you like to talk and brainstorm; you’re curious and your moods change pretty abruptly. You’re reasonable above all else and when confronted with emotional problems, you reason things out and act with logic. Although your instincts are usually very on point, you tend to discard them for logic.
Square – the practical hand. You demand facts and have brilliant reasoning abilities, as well as a need for security. You take nothing for granted and are able to shrug off little day-to-day issues in favour of staying on course. You are a doer – a hard worker; law, order and no nonsense. You say what you think and have have difficulty seeing other perspectives – but, while you’re harshly critical, you’re the same towards yourself. You like to be needed and get satisfaction from being productive.
- How Flexible Are Your Fingers?
When you apply pressure to your finger, it should naturally arch slightly backwards. How much they bend, however, is indicative of adaptable a person you are. If your finger bends back far, it means you will do pretty much anything to avoid an argument and if your finger isn’t flexible it means you don’t like to admit you’re wrong.
- How Long Are Your Fingers?
Although there’s no definitive way to judge finger length (which is unhelpful, if you ask me) you are supposed to tell by turning over your hand so you’re staring at the nail side and judging them compared to your palm.
Very short fingers – daring, competitive, adventurous, enthusiastic, up-front. Warning: you can rush and take foolish chance. Don’t be too aggressive or feisty.
Short – make decisions quickly, act fast, big-picture people, have a very pioneering spirit, not deterred by failure. Warning: abrupt and reckless, you’ll overlook details. Work towards goals that can be achieved quickly as ones that take years of planning aren’t you forte.
Long fingers – take their time, ask a lot of “why” and “how come”, focus on planning, analysing, discussing and questioning, enjoy examining and categorising, don’t fear compromise, enjoy demonstrating affection.
- How Prominent Are Your Knuckles/Finger Joints?
Knobbly joints – strong reasoning capabilities; you are a problem solver. You’re very logical and objective and like to avoid arguments. You want to maintain emotional stability in your life.
Smooth knuckles – smooth knuckles belong to people who use their intuition rather than relying purely on reason. Although your passions can control your thoughts, you rarely act in haste or anger.
- What’s The Position Of Your Five Fingers?
- Index finger
The index finger is the finger used to determine your assertiveness and leadership skills.
If your index finger is higher than the nail bed of your middle finger, then you have a long index finger. This suggests star quality and high self-confidence. You have a strong sense of self and take pride in your achievements.
If your index finger is nearly the same size as your ring finger, it’s average sized. This means you like to be in control, but you can be very flamboyant and magnify your emotions.
When your index finger is shorter than the ring finger, you have a short index finger and enjoy following rather than leading. You enjoy being helpful and needed – but not to be the centre of attention. You can be extremely sensitive.
- Middle finger
The middle finger reflects how you learn things and how well disciplined you are.
Long – shows you love schedules; serious about commitments. You can easily work alone; you enjoy it most when situations are orderly and structured.
Short – (middle fingers are considered short when they only reach the top of the ring finger) you’re old-fashioned and conservative; you stick to what you know. You don’t like to take risks or rely on others.
Curved – a curved middle finger is the sign of a collector – somebody that likes to save and hoard things. Your home represents security to you. You are highly critical and undervalue yourself.
Ring finger – your ring finger shows your personal style, capacity for joy, happiness with work and appreciation of the arts.
Short – if your ring finger touches or is just below your middle finger’s nail bed, it’s short. This says you don’t fear showing your feelings; caring for someone makes your world happy.
Average – if your ring finger is slightly longer than your index finger, it’s average. You crave recognition and approval; you love money. You enjoy visual things like fashion and colour – and you enjoy crowds and love being in the limelight.
Long – if your ring finger is longer than your middle, you’re not very good with money management so watch out. However, you form lasting and strong relationships.
- The little finger
Shows how you communicate and learn.
Long – a little finger that reaches above the ring finger’s top knuckle is long. This reveals that you’re optimistic and adventuresome – you’re very enthusiastic and think big and talk well. You learn quickly and are eager to get things done.
Square tipped – a square tipped little finger says that you speak well; you have a strong sense of equality and fairness.
Spade tipped – if you have a pointed tip on your little finger, you’re full of warmth and charisma. You’re conservative and don’t like to cause issues. You’re open-minded – but sometimes it can be over-accommodating.
Bent – a little finger that bends away from the hand suggests an inability to get along with people. You can focus too much on small details and can miss the larger picture.
- The thumb
The thumb tells your sense of individuality, determination, perseverance, open-mindedness, willingness to change and sense of self-worth.
Long – a long thumb reaches the middle joint of the index finger. This is the sign of a strong ego and a healthy sense of self; you’re encouraging and enjoy making people happy. Pride keeps you from relying too much on other people.
Short – a thumb that doesn’t reach the bottom of your index finger says you’re short and willpower. You have problems making up your mind and it’s difficult for you to separate yourself from others’ needs and desires. You can be too compassionate and are easy to get along with but you need to learn to say no.
Waist – if your thumb has a noticeable “waist” where it tapers in between the knuckle and the palm. You understand people, animals and plants; you’re very curious and want to enhance the monotony of daily life with fantasy and entertainment. You’re easily distracted.
Okay, so that was just a not-as-brief-as-I’d-originally-hoped post on the things your palm can tell you! I learnt . . . well, not that much that I didn’t already know. I’m a logical thinker over emotion, but I trust my intuition over cold reason too. Let me know what you guys got, I’m
